A knowledge brokering program in Burkina Faso (West Africa); reflections from our experience

Technological solutions for building effective global health surveillance systems

This poster was presented at the Sparking Population Health Solutions international summit, held by the CIHR Institute of Population and Public Health on April 25 to 28, 2016 in Ottawa, Ontario. The poster presents the development of two georeferenced surveillance systems as part of the Equity in Health research program in Burkina Faso. One was focused on road accidents and trauma events, and the other on dengue. We constructed a tool that provides geolocation of cases using mobile telephone technology. This presentation was realised by Valéry Ridde, Emmanuel Bonnet, Christian Dagenais, Ludovic Queuille, Zoumana Traoré, Patrice Sanon, Lucie Lechat and Paul-André Somé for the 22nd IUHPE World Conference for health promotion in Curitiba, Brazil (May 2016).
